FOSTER

CHILDREN

In St. Clair County, Alabama, on average, there are approximately 80 children and teens in foster care.

All of these children have experienced loss and some form of trauma.

Let’s help heal these children and teens by showing them the love of Jesus.

HOW YOU CAN SERVE FOSTER CHILDREN:

PROVIDE CARE BAGS

Many children come into care without any of their personal items. No clothes, toys or keepsakes to call their own. These bags bless the foster child/teen with toiletries, age appropriate activities and toys, comfort items and clothing to help them transition into their foster home.

PROVIDE SCHOOL SUPPLIES

The average cost for school supplies for one child is $100. Providing these needed items helps relieve some of the financial burden from our families caring for children in foster care. And the kids love to get new school supplies and back packs as some have never had them.

PROVIDE FIRST AID RESPONSE ITEMS

Donate new beds, bedding and new or lightly loved clothes and shoes for immediate assistance for children to be placed in a relative's home, such as a grandparent, or a foster home.

PROVIDE CHRISTMAS WISHES

Whether it's sponsoring a child's entire Christmas wish list or just one gift, you are giving the gift of joy to a child or teen this Christmas. Your church can sponsor wishes through an angel tree project or by having small groups provide individual children's wish lists. We can pickup or you can contact families and use the opportunity as an outreach to share the love of Christ.

“When receiving their care bags it’s as if, even for just a moment, their circumstances don’t look so bleak.”
